It is taking place for the fifth time this year 3D Pioneer Challenge. The aim is to present the latest innovations and ideas for 3D printing applications from various areas. Interested parties have been able to register for the design competition since the beginning of December. At the Rapid.Tech in Erfurt (5.-7.5.2020) the results will finally be presented and the winners will be chosen.
Addressees of this award are 3D enthusiasts, specialists, developers and lateral thinkers from universities and research institutes as well as from industry or from research and design offices.
Prize money of €35,000, donated by the Thuringian Ministry for Economics, Science and Digital Society, awaits the winner.
The award itself takes place in a multi-stage process by a jury of international experts from design, application and industry.
Promotion of innovative technologies
The aim of the makers is to show the innovative potential inherent in 3D printing technology, especially in comparison to other future technologies such as artificial intelligence or robotics. At the same time, however, the numerous fusions of these technologies should also be made clear.
Additive technologies in individual fields
Every year, the platform shows which fields are being advanced by additive technologies. Specifically, the following categories are considered: “Design”, “MedTech”, “FashionTech”, “Material”, “Architecture”, “Digital”, “Mobility” and “Sustainability through Electronics”.
International respected competition
The 3D Pioneers Challenge (3DPC) is one of the world’s most valuable design competitions for innovation in additive manufacturing processes. This is also reflected in the support from numerous partners. The US provider Autodesk gives 3 participants the opportunity to take part in the renowned “Autodesk Technology Centers Residency Program” in San Francisco, Boston or Toronto with the special award “Special Mention by Autodesk”. There they can further develop their concepts with the latest technologies.
