The Boundary feature in AutoCAD can be used to create a closed polyline within or around a set of geometric objects.
The resulting polyline can be used to:
- Calculate the area, perimeter, or geometric center of a room or a rotating cam or counterweight
- Create an outline of a building to use on a site plan or start a foundation plan
- Create a 3D object from the 2D polyline by extruding, revolving, or sweeping the 2D profile
Discover easy ways to create closed polylines or regions based on the boundaries of geometric objects by following the step-by-step examples in the HaveYouTried:CreateBoundariesEfficiently topic.
