Hidden lines are used to show surfaces that are not directly visible. All surfaces must be shown in all views. If an edge or surface is blocked from view by another feature, it is drawn using a hidden line. Figures 4-11 and 4-12 show objects that require hidden lines in their orthographic views.10 mar. 2017

When you create hidden line projections, the 3D objects that you select are copied and collected into an unnamed (also called anonymous) 2D block. The unnamed block can be placed in your drawing in the current 3D view, or placed parallel to the XY plane to be viewed in plan view.16 fév. 2021
A hidden line, also known as a hidden object line is a medium weight line, made of short dashes about 1/8” long with 1/16”gaps, to show edges, surfaces and corners which cannot be seen. Sometimes they are used to make a drawing easier to understand. Often they are omitted in an isometric view.
Hidden details are shown by a series of dashes making up a broken line. It is normal practice that you place a dash at the beginning of the hidden line and another at the end where it meets an intersecting line.

What is the use of dotted line?
Dotted lines are super attention grabbing. They also convey a sense of uncertainty that can be useful. The challenge is that dotted lines introduce some visual noise.8 mai 2018

Why are my lines not dashed in AutoCAD?
Why can’t I see dashed lines in AutoCAD? Most likely your line type scale is set too low. Select your line you want dashed and open the properties on it.
Hidden lines in a drawing represent the edges where surfaces meet but are not directly visible. Hidden lines are omitted from pictorial drawings unless they are needed to make the drawing clear. Figure 3.46 shows a case in which hidden lines are needed because a projecting part cannot be clearly shown without them.6 avr. 2018
A drafter—in deciding whether a line in a view should be represented as hidden or as visible—relies on the fact that in third-angle projection the near side of the object is near the adjacent view, but in first-angle projection the near side of the object is remote from the adjacent view.
What are alphabet lines?
