A day to meet our customers at the Global Industrie 2021 trade fair

Taking a TGV and then going to Eurexpo Lyon, this huge space dedicated to the biggest events or events outside of Paris, it’s already a journey. It is above all a moment that all French and foreign industrialists have been waiting for almost two years. So when we all meet in our stands, ready to welcome visitors with passion and enthusiasm, we have only one idea in mind, to know how the world of industry is doing, these SMEs and mid-cap companies that make our fabric. economic before being our customers.

Naturally, the industry did not wait for the decline of the covid-19 pandemic to imagine the future. This is what makes its strength. It is constantly evolving, looking for innovations that will change our lives, our businesses and our planet.

As told us Guillaume Anelli, director of operations for Visiativ, the good surprise of the Global Industrie show is “the desire and the pleasure that people all have to talk about, to see us again. This clearly shows that people remain a priority, including in an industrial world. “Also during our tour in the middle of machines of all kinds, and hyper efficient robots, we had this feeling of a strong desire to speak to each other again (even under our masks).

Innovations are everywhere at Global Industrie. At the intersection of two aisles, a man sits cross-legged, looking relaxed. More curiously still, his ankle performs a half rotation smoothly while nothing else in his body seems to want to move. Impossible not to be challenged by the enigmatic elegance of the character. However, it is indeed a robot that faces us and attracts us. Industry 4.0 can be summed up pretty well in this peaceful encounter between humans and technology.

So what are the challenges facing SMEs or mid-cap companies for tomorrow?

By asking this question to Christelle Bertaud, expert in DELMIA solutions at Dassault Systèmes, who presents a wonderful demonstration of what a complete simulation of a plant’s production chain brings in terms of management and prevention of risky situations, we anticipate that the best of the future remains to come. Manufacturers have extraordinary tools at their fingertips to streamline, optimize and make production sites more energy and human resource efficient. What then are their challenges?

So at Tra-C, there is a double stake for the company around, on the one hand, the recruitment and retention of talents and, on the other hand, its participation in the decarbonization of the industry. A company of 120 people sees itself as a team where talents collaborate and complement each other, and which can be mobilized to achieve responsibility objectives. There is no doubt about the dynamism of this Lyon-based integrator who works for different industries (including the automotive industry historically) and who masters friction stir welding (FSW) technology.

Same observation at Innovtec Industry, an SME taken over less than two years ago by Mathilde Marchand, the new CEO, installed in a pretty village somewhere in Ain. Commercial dynamism requires support for customers in their transformation. “It is no longer a question of simply selling a product but rather of designing a complete service for our customers, from the design to the maintenance of the machines installed”, affirms the manager.

By selling a global service, the financial stakes change. It is no longer a question of purchasing machines to be depreciated over several years, but of managing production costs adjusted in real time. The other challenge is to move towards “clean” products. In the sense that “we have to offer a base of standard modules around which are added additional elements that define the purpose of the machine. Thus we will be able to replace a module without however touching the other parts; which constitutes an appreciable saving and guarantee of sustainability and tending towards the responsibility of all. “

The industry of the future is now managed by men and women who are sensitive to ecological and human issues. These forward-looking leaders innovate and create meaning for our industries. Their companies are recognized internationally for the quality and unique performance they deliver, in particular because they produce tailor-made products for their clients. This is also what SOLIDWORKS solutions offer while helping to accelerate innovation at a lower cost, for example by using the digital twin to simulate production chains.

Listening Bruno Neyret, boss of the Neyret group founded by his father Guy, we understand that the dynamism of SMEs is very dependent on their ability to work with players from different countries and cultures. His career having taken him in turn to North America and China, he quite naturally approached his markets without any complex. Her business is growing at a rapid pace because it knows how to respond to local requirements and standards, while retaining its own and unique technological know-how.

No fear in this fiery and ambitious leader, the future is a happy adventure which asks only to be lived serenely. In addition to the tools and digital solutions that equip these two research and development centers with 80 people (which impresses his foreign clients), Bruno Neyret, too, is building on the talents that make up the strength of his company. By managing with a very altruistic outlook, he gets the best from his teams. He succeeds in leading them into effective collaborations and instills unalterable confidence in the success of his company.

There is no doubt that we could have multiplied the examples of industrialists who envisage the future with a very positive state of mind, resolutely convinced that technological know-how makes it possible to move forward without fear into the future. It is a very powerful feeling that emerges from these four days of immersion in Global Industry 2021, and we are already looking forward to coming back to it. Not just to demonstrate all that our solutions can bring to our customers, but above all, to meet them again and inspire us with their passion and creativity.
