Here is a very useful tool that you probably don’t know yet. L’cleaning utility SOLIDWORKS Simulation (SOLIDWORKS Simulation Cleaning Utility) is a utility for cleaning SOLIDWORKS® files from simulation data they may contain. In particular, the SOLIDWORKS Simulation cleanup utility allows you to choose which simulation data you want to remove from the following choices:
Simulation
SimulationXpress
Motion Simulation and
Flow Simulation (or FloXpress)
Sustainability
This utility is useful when you think that accumulating simulation study data in a SOLIDWORKS file has degraded the quality of the file and you want to get rid of that data. It can also correct the occurrence of instability (crash) caused by corrupted data from projects and simulation studies. It can also get rid of corrupted studies so you can recreate them properly.
To use the SOLIDWORKS Simulation cleanup utility:
In Windows® Explorer, navigate to the SOLIDWORKS 2015 installation folder (for example, “C: Program Files SOLIDWORKS Corp SOLIDWORKS”). If there are multiple instances of “SOLIDWORKS”, for example “SOLIDWORKS (2)”, be sure to identify the 2015 version of SOLIDWORKS.
In the sub-folder Simulation, go to the folder Utilities (for example C: Program Files SOLIDWORKS Corp SOLIDWORKS Simulation Utilities). Please note that the full version of SOLIDWORKS Simulation must be installed to access this folder. SimulationXpress is not enough.
Run the file Simulation Cleaning Utility.exe.
Use the button … Browse to select a SOLIDWORKS Part or Assembly file.
In the group Clean studies from following products (clean the studies among the following products), select any combination of:
Simulation
SimulationXpress
Motion Simulation and
Flow Simulation (and FloXpress)
Click on the button Clean file to clean the file by deleting the corresponding data.
How do I activate an Xpress product in SOLIDWORKS® 2015?
Starting with the 2015 version of SOLIDWORKS, all Xpress products require a Product code in order to operate.
Xpress products are available in the toolbar Evaluation of the CommandManager and among them are:
To get your product code:
Start the desired Xpress product.
In the dialog box, click the my.solidworks.com/xpress hyperlink.
Your default browser opens to MySolidWorks.com. Log on to MySolidWorks.
The web page opens and shows eight digits Product code for the Xpress product chosen in step 1. (Optionally, you can click on the View all products to get other codes.)
Copy or remember the eight digits Product code.
Return to SOLIDWORKS and paste or enter the eight digits Product code and click on okay to activate the Xpress product.
Notes:
Each Xpress product has a Product code
You must repeat these steps for each Xpress product you choose to activate.
You only have to enter the Product code by Xpress product.
Your serial number determines each Product code. If your serial number is used by more than one person, such as in a SolidNetWork Licensing (SNL) environment, each person can use the same “Product Code”.

What kinds of material models are available in drop test studies?
In SolidWorks® Simulation, the drop test studies, only the models of materials linear elastic isotropic and with plasticity of Von Mises (bilinear) are supported.
